ZioTripal is a combination of three antiviral components Efavirenz, Emtricitabine and Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate.
Efavirenz suppresses the activity of ribonucleic acid-directed polymerase that processes DNA. The cell changes efavirenz into an active form with three phosphate groups, which works against viruses. A particular type of cell can affect the phosphorylation reaction of efavirenz. It is thought that inhibiting reverse transcriptase interferes with the production of DNA copies of viral RNA, which are required for the synthesis of new virions. Intracellular enzymes then eliminate the HIV particles that the host cell had already uncoated and left unprotected upon entry.
5-fluorodeoxyuridine triphosphate is created when cellular enzymes phosphorylate emtricitabine, which is a synthetic nucleoside equivalent of cytidine. By competing with the natural substrate deoxycytidine 5'-triphosphate and embedding itself in newly emerging viral DNA, emtricitabine 5'-triphosphate prevents the HIV reverse transcriptase from completing its task. This results in chain termination. It is an insufficient inhibitor of mammalian and mitochondrial DNA polymerases. Mammalian cells are both functional and structural parts of a mammal's body. It consists of eukaryotic cells, which means they have a nucleus and membrane-bound organelles.
Diphosphate of tenofovir adenosine monophosphate's acyclic nucleoside phosphonate diester equivalent is fumarate. Diester hydrolysis converts it to tenofovir, which cellular enzymes then phosphorylate to form TDF. It inhibits HIV RT activity by competing with the natural substrate deoxyadenosine 5’triphosphate and, when incorporated into DNA, by terminating the deoxyribonucleic acid. That weakly inhibits mammalian and mitochondrial DNA polymerase.
Antiretroviral therapy is the technique for HIV, involving a mixture of medications to suppress the virus and further damage to the immune system.
HIV is classified as a retrovirus, spread by infecting host cells in the body and producing copies of itself, which continue to replicate. ATV therapy may function by lowering virus levels in the body. They function according to the structure and needs of the body.
